S3RUS BidLine optimizer takes the same global approach as our world class Pairing Optimizer – full sets of lines based on user defined parameters. Traditional line building software is iterative - build one type of lines first - one day trips, for example - lock them, then move on to the next type of lines. The trouble with this approach is that when you get to end - building four day trips, for example - you realize you have to deconstruct some of the one day trip lines to bolster the below average four day lines. Question is, which lines do you deconstruct? Are the remaining lines constructed optimally? This is why global optimization is important.

Our approach is a true global one: the user defines what they would like to see in the entire solution - day-of-week cadence, day trips, total days / groupings of days off, weekends-off, am/pm, pairing types, etc. Each parameter is weighted so the user has a "throttle" to tell the system which item is more important. For example: the user desires 25 day trip lines, but more importantly wants all lines above a defined minimum. In giving more weight to the lines above minimum parameter the, system may only be able to provide 23 day trip lines, using the remaining day trips to "fill in" on the weaker four day trip lines to get them to above minimum.

Full reporting, along with intuitive indicators which show where the system is focusing is provided.

Additionally - for those peak months or any bid periods or any time you may find yourself short staffed, the Bidline Optimizer excels in producing the highest average/fewest bidlines possible - this is because it is evaluating the solution as a whole and can find the optimal answer to the puzzle of getting the pairings into the fewest lines possible. All within staying within any open time tolerances.

The graphical line editor allows the user to review the lines in a friendly format, and allows for making those last final tweaks. The editor features drag & drop and full filtering capabilities.
